This One Truly Breaks My Heart. But It’s Time to Move Forward.

This One Truly Breaks My Heart. But It’s Time to Move Forward.

I know I’ve emailed you about this before.

The truth is, every time I did, there was still a part of me holding out hope.

I kept thinking I could figure it out. Find another processor. Fight another battle. Change something. Find some way to keep our CBD and CBG products.

And believe me, I have tried everything.

But this time, the decision is final.

We will not be restocking our CBD or CBG products.

And before I tell you why, I need to tell you why I fought so damn hard to keep them in the first place.

It started with my sister, Robyn.

If you've been with Glissant for a while, you may already know a little about her story.

Robyn battled brain cancer, and during that time I watched someone I loved experience a level of pain that no one should ever have to endure.

I also saw firsthand the difference CBD could make for her.

That stayed with me.

It changed the way I looked at CBD forever.

To me, CBD was never a trendy ingredient. It wasn't something I put into a formula because it sounded good on a label or because everyone was suddenly talking about it.

I had watched it help my sister when she was experiencing extraordinary pain.

That's why I believed in it.

And that's why I've fought so damn hard to keep it.

Then something else started happening.

You started writing to me.

I began hearing stories from women about what these products were doing in their own lives.

Women told me our Wellness Oil helped when they were hurting.

Women told me our Bath Salts had become part of the ritual they turned to when their bodies ached.

And some of the messages that affected me the most were from women who told me that something as simple as our Huile D'Amour lube had helped them reclaim intimacy with someone they loved.

Think about that for a second.

A lube helped repair a relationship because a woman could be intimate again without anticipating pain.

Pain is no joke.

If you know something is going to hurt, why would you want to do it?

I understand that one personally.

As a woman of a certain age, I've experienced that pain myself.

The “Am I a virgin again?” kind of pain.

Fucking menopause.

There, I said it.

And it's one of the reasons I honestly cannot imagine not having Huile D'Amour in my own life.

This product became incredibly personal to me.

So yes, what's happening now involves business. Merchant processors. Credit cards. Regulations. Social media. Algorithms. And all the other bullshit that comes with trying to run a company in this category.

But for me, this was never just business.

It started with Robyn.

And then it became about all of you.

So what happened?

Merchant processors—the companies that allow websites to accept credit cards—are increasingly refusing to work with websites that sell CBD or CBG.

And the problem has gotten much bigger than our own website.

These restrictions affect where and how these products can be sold, including our ability to grow them through wholesale retailers.

At the same time, we've spent years dealing with social media restrictions because of “sexual content.” We've had content flagged for using the term "CBD". We've changed wording, images, ads, and processors, and we're navigating rules that change as soon as we understand them.

I've fought countless battles to keep these products.

But at some point, I have to ask myself:

Do I want to spend all my energy fighting a system I can't control?

Or do I want to put that energy back into creating?

I've finally decided it's time to create.

So this time, it really is final.

We will not be manufacturing or restocking our current CBD and CBG products.

What we have left is all that remains.

Once it's gone, it's gone.

I'm not telling you this to create some bullshit marketing urgency.

I genuinely wish I didn't have to write this email.

I'm telling you because if Huile D'Amour, our Wellness Oil or our Bath Salts have become part of your life, I want you to have the opportunity to get them while they're still here.

And then I have to move forward.

That doesn't mean I've given up.

Especially on Huile D'Amour.

I've tried countless times to replace CBD with something that gives me the same benefits and relief.

So far, my quest has failed.

Which means finding that ingredient has officially become my holy grail.

And anyone who knows me knows I'm way too stubborn to stop looking.

I will keep searching.

I will keep formulating.

And someday, I hope I'll be writing you a very different email telling you:

I found it.

Until then, thank you.

Thank you for every email you've sent me. Every story you've shared. Every order. Every reorder. Every friend you've told about Glissant.

And thank you for reminding me why I fought for these products for as long as I did.

I wrote more about what's happening, why I've finally made this decision and what comes next for Glissant here:

This isn't the end of Glissant.

It's just the next chapter.

And I have a feeling Robyn would expect me to keep fighting for the parts that matter.

So I will.

With love,

Renee

P.S. Huile D'Amour isn't going quietly. And neither am I.
