Dryness during perimenopause and menopause is one of the most common changes women notice, and one of the least discussed. As estrogen declines, vaginal tissue becomes thinner and more sensitive, and products that never bothered you before can start to sting.
Every formula here is hormone-free, paraben-free, and made without added fragrance. Two are 510(k) FDA-cleared. All are designed for tissue that has become more sensitive.
Not sure which to choose? Start with the question that matters most: do you use condoms or toys?
- Yes → choose a water-based formula (Hydratant d'Amour or Eau d'Amour). Both are compatible with latex, polyurethane, and polyisoprene condoms, plus toys and devices.
- No → Huile d'Amour is oil-based, lasts longer, and is made for skin-on-skin intimacy. It is not compatible with latex condoms or silicone toys.
If dryness is present all day and not only during intimacy, you likely want a moisturizer rather than a lubricant alone. Hydratant d'Amour does both.
What kind of lubricant is best for menopause dryness?
For most women, a water-based, pH-balanced, glycerin-free lubricant is the best starting point, because it's safe with condoms and toys and gentle on sensitive tissue. If you don't use condoms and want something longer-lasting, an oil-based formula works well.
What's the difference between a lubricant and a vaginal moisturizer?
A lubricant is used in the moment, during intimacy. A vaginal moisturizer is used regularly, a few times a week, to support ongoing hydration whether or not you're having sex. If dryness is constant rather than occasional, a moisturizer is usually the missing piece.
Are these safe for sensitive skin?
All Glissant formulas are made without parabens, glycerin, or added fragrance, and the water-based options are pH-balanced to 3.8–4.5 to match healthy vaginal pH. Huile d'Amour contains CBD and CBG. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
